‘Dear friends, you are foreigners and strangers on this earth. So I beg you not to surrender to those desires that fight against you. Always let others see you behaving properly, even though they may still accuse you of doing wrong. Then on the day of judgment, they will honour God by telling the good things they saw you do.’ 1 Peter 2:11–12
Linda Marshall, student worker and this book’s author says, ‘Pure began life a bit accidentally, to be honest, as a six–week course for young people on what God says about sex and relationships. It’s so exciting to see it moving on to this next stage where it can be of use to the wider church.’
What I like about this book is that is starts at the beginning and looks at Gods intention for sex and relationships. It doesn't start with where we are today, and try to work the bible around it, but goes back to genesis 1&2 and then also focuses on genesis 3 and the fall. This then takes us to where we are today, in all world were relationships are messy. The book is well divided into 6 sections with good questions to end, and with material available from uccf for small groups, this is excellent to run with a youth or student group. I think every youth group should have to offer this to their young people before going to university or into employment.
