Solid food!

I used this book a few years back working through Isaiah in more depth than I would have otherwise. It felt like hearty, proper food as I slowly worked through! Motyer's own translation and excellent side notes were really helpful pointing out many things I would have missed. An excellent resource and the Lord grew me spiritually through it as a result. Definitely worth getting and investing time in working through!
Good translation but...

The translation of Isaiah and the footnotes are excellent. However I found the devotional notes less helpful. Sometimes I could not work out what their relationship was to the text, or they seemed to focus on minor issues rather than the main issue of the text. I gave up on it.
